Application blocked at the prefecture

An application held up at the prefecture (préfecture): find the right contact

Unable to submit your application, seeing an error in your account or waiting without a reply? These situations call for different actions.

  • 14-day money-back guarantee
  • Secure payment
  • On WhatsApp, no app required
  • Rules verified against official texts

Have you received a refusal, an order to leave France (obligation de quitter le territoire français), or are your residence or work rights uncertain? Seek suitable legal help without delay. A technical support request does not replace that help.

The problem is technical

If your procedure uses the official website for foreigners in France, use its assistance service. The ministry lists support contacts and digital assistance points.

Note the error message, date, stage and application reference. Keep copies of your exchanges. Do not share your password. If you use another submission website, consult the assistance listed there.

Do not choose another submission method at random. Ask for instructions suited to your case; do not assume that a letter or email replaces an online procedure.

You have submitted the application and are waiting

Check messages in your official account area and any requests for documents. Keep proof of submission, documents received and exchanges. Follow the contact methods published by your prefecture.

An “application received” message does not confirm your rights. The official information on residence permit (titre de séjour) application certificates distinguishes several documents. A certificate of filing (attestation de dépôt) does not, by itself, prove a right to reside or work.

If waiting causes difficulties with your work or residence, have your situation assessed. We do not calculate an appeal deadline applicable to every application here.

You have received an unfavourable decision

Keep the complete decision and details of how it was delivered. Do not wait for another reply from the prefecture or our service before seeking legal help.

Our support for a renewal

For a renewal covered by our offer, My Renewal (Mon renouvellement) helps organise documents, follow published steps and understand documents received. It does not provide privileged access to the prefecture. It cannot force a reply or guarantee a certificate.

Read what My Renewal includes

For a general question within the service's scope, consult the limits of the Questions Pass (Pass Questions) — 7 days. If your renewal already includes Questions, you do not need an additional Pass. For a separate project, Citizenship preparations are presented separately.

Your questions

Can you unblock my application?

We can help prepare and follow a renewal covered by our offer. Only the authorities process the application; we do not guarantee that it will be unblocked.

Can I send the application by post if the website is blocked?

Do not assume that this submission will be accepted. Ask your prefecture for instructions suited to your procedure.

Must I wait a fixed period before seeking help?

No. An unfavourable decision or a difficulty concerning your rights calls for suitable help as soon as possible. This page does not set an appeal deadline.

Does a Pass replace a legal consultation?

No. The Pass uses artificial intelligence to explain information within its scope. It does not handle appeals.

Scope of the service
